World Stroke Day

29
October 2020

29 October is World Stroke Day. It was established by the World Stroke Organization (WSO) in 2006 to call for urgent action to stop this disease worldwide. The disease remains one of the main causes of death and disability in the world. Cardiovascular diseases are responsible for about half of the deaths, with one fifth of them affecting the working age population. A major prevention method is to have a healthy and balanced diet with all necessary micro- and micronutrients. The risk of a stroke can be considerably reduced if all refined and fatty products are removed from the diet.
