World Diabetes Day

The International Diabetes Federation, (IDF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) established World Diabetes Day in 1991 in response to a world diabetes epidemic. According to WHO estimation, sugar diabetes increased the public mortality rate by 2 or 3 times and reduces life expectancy. Currently, there are around 200 million diabetes patients (their real number is twice that number though); the number is growing every year. Type II diabetes is especially widespread; its catastrophically high level, responsible for 85% of all diabetes cases, is caused by obesity and physical inertia. Leading a healthy lifestyle and keeping a healthy diet are simple measures that are effecting in preventing the disease.
