Thomas Huxley essays deals with zoology and anthropology. He developed the Classification of Animals and the Vertebrate Skull. He demonstrated the fundamental affinity of birds and reptiles, jellyfish and polyps. In 1859 after Charles Darwin had published his work ‘On the Origin of Species’, Tomas Huxley became the main defender of Darwin’s theory, taking part in public discussions on the topic for many years.
