International Internet Day

April 2020

International day of the Internet has been celebrated since 1998 when Pope John Paul II gave his assent. The Church proposed St. Isidore of Seville (who died on April 4 of the year 636) as a patron saint of Internet users, because of his determination to use the world's accumulated knowledge for the service of God's glory. A reformer and a broadminded scholar, he was the author of one of the first books on etymology. He was the first to introduce Aristotle to Spain. St Isidore was one the last early Christian philosophers and fathers of the Great Latin Church. Some historians believe that St Isidore to be one of the most educated men of his times who made a great impact of education in the Middle Ages.
