Independence of the Republic of Moldova

August 27, 1991 the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova adopted the Declaration of Independence, following the example of the Baltic states, Georgia, Armenia and Ukraine. A few hours after the adoption of the document Romania recognized the independence of Moldova. In December 1991, after the signing of the Belavezha Accords and the collapse of the USSR, the new state, Republic of Moldova, was recognized by several dozens of countries, including the United States, Turkey, France, Germany and then Russia, Ukraine and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS ). Official Chisinau entered the CIS later. In 1992 the Republic of Moldova entered the UN, and then in the CSCE (OSCE), the Council of Europe, the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, WTO.
